3rd Appointment (Anatomy Scan)

On February 25 we had our 3rd appointment. At this appointment they were doing the anatomy scan & also told us the gender of our baby! We had been waiting for this appointment for 19 weeks and were so ready to know what the sex of baby G was.

I worked 1/2 day at school & took off the last part of the day for our appointment. I rushed home at 11:30 to leave for Bolivar by 12. I was so nervous all day for the appointment. After reading my 'What to Expect' App, I was so nervous that something was going to be wrong with this baby. Also, I was nervous that the baby wouldn't cooperate and open 'it's' legs so we could see the gender. Daniel reassured me several times everything was fine...what a sweet guy! Also, I had heard that I needed to drink some caffeine before the appointment to really get the baby moving. I was SO looking forward to going to Sonic and getting a cherry vanilla Dr. Pepper....but, of course we were running late so we had to stop at the gas station & got a bottled cherry Dr. Pepper instead. I have only had a couple glasses of tea the whole time I've been pregnant (trying to cut out caffeine) and I was sadly disappointed at how gross I thought that Dr. Pepper was!

Once we got to the office (right on time) we were quickly taken by the nurse to check my weight. I weighed 117.6. I cheered (loudly) for myself because gaining almost 4 pounds is an accomplishment for me! The nurse looked at me like I was crazy...as did my husband. Then we were taken straight to the ultrasound room. I'm not going to go into too many details---so, I don't give anything away--but, this was truly one of the best days of my life. Seeing that sweet baby on the monitor moving around and the UT telling us that the baby looked good made me feel so relieved. Then, finding out the gender just added the icing to the cake. It was a wonderful day. (More about this after the gender party!)

Then, we had to meet with my doctor. She came in, told me everything looked good with the baby & listened to the babies heartbeat. I finally got to ask her if I could go to Mexico at the end of March and she said it was totally fine to go. I was a little worried, since we've already paid for it! :)

After our appointment we headed to Springfield to meet up with my cousin, Emily. But, not before stopping for some Chinese at the mall. :) We bought her crib that she used with her boys, and we got about half of it to fit in our car. This was the day that we were supposed to get the massive snow storm & Daniel didn't want to take the truck and get the crib all wet. After we got what we could in the car, we all went to eat at Lamberts for dinner. We had a great time eating with the boys. Ty even caught a throwed roll with his face! :)

Emily & the boys are wanting a boy...this is sweet little Jett wearing his blue necklaces that he is going to wear to the party to support 'team blue'.

We headed for home right after dinner. The weather was getting bad at home & once we hit Bolivar Daniel said, "we should have left Springfield a long time ago". The roads quickly became covered with snow & we couldn't see anything! Most of the time we were driving, I felt like our little Acura was pushing inches of snow. It was coming down so hard and fast that Daniel had to stop and wipe off our headlights and get the ice off the wipers. It was a scary drive...thank goodness God was watching over us & helped us get home safely.

Gender Reveal party is on Saturday....be looking for the gender reveal on here soon!!! :)
