19 Weeks

How far along? 19 weeks
Baby is the size of… Onion
Maternity clothes? Yes! But, I can still wear regular clothes—like in the pic!

Stretch marks? Nope.
Sleep: Sleep is usually interrupted several times a night for bathroom breaks---finally moved our bedroom around so I don’t have to crawl over Daniel to get to the bathroom.
Best moment this week: Getting to see our baby for about 15 minutes during our anatomy scan & finding out the GENDER OF OUR BABY!!!

Miss Anything? Still cherry vanilla Dr. Peppers and a good night’s sleep!
Movement: Quite a bit…usually early in morning or at night while watching TV.
Food cravings:  This week I haven’t been able to stop eating the Easter egg Whoppers I bought at the store…shouldn’t have bought them b/c I’ve almost ate the whole bag.
Anything making you queasy or sick: DIDN’T THROW UP ALL WEEK!!! YAY!
Gender: We know what the baby is…but, all of our family has to wait until the gender reveal party on Saturday. I must say, I’ve never seen them be so sneaky in their lives. My mom insists on coming over every night, my cousin Emily calls every day to ask if I’ve changed my mind on telling her for the day, Jackie wants us to come over to torture it out of us, and I told Shelby I got the silly string for the party and she sneakily asked “And, what color did you have to buy”. I’m telling you… they’re getting pretty good!

Labor Signs: No

Looking forward to: Gender reveal party on Saturday!!!

What do you think baby G is?!

3rd Appointment (Anatomy Scan)

On February 25 we had our 3rd appointment. At this appointment they were doing the anatomy scan & also told us the gender of our baby! We had been waiting for this appointment for 19 weeks and were so ready to know what the sex of baby G was.

I worked 1/2 day at school & took off the last part of the day for our appointment. I rushed home at 11:30 to leave for Bolivar by 12. I was so nervous all day for the appointment. After reading my 'What to Expect' App, I was so nervous that something was going to be wrong with this baby. Also, I was nervous that the baby wouldn't cooperate and open 'it's' legs so we could see the gender. Daniel reassured me several times everything was fine...what a sweet guy! Also, I had heard that I needed to drink some caffeine before the appointment to really get the baby moving. I was SO looking forward to going to Sonic and getting a cherry vanilla Dr. Pepper....but, of course we were running late so we had to stop at the gas station & got a bottled cherry Dr. Pepper instead. I have only had a couple glasses of tea the whole time I've been pregnant (trying to cut out caffeine) and I was sadly disappointed at how gross I thought that Dr. Pepper was!

Once we got to the office (right on time) we were quickly taken by the nurse to check my weight. I weighed 117.6. I cheered (loudly) for myself because gaining almost 4 pounds is an accomplishment for me! The nurse looked at me like I was crazy...as did my husband. Then we were taken straight to the ultrasound room. I'm not going to go into too many details---so, I don't give anything away--but, this was truly one of the best days of my life. Seeing that sweet baby on the monitor moving around and the UT telling us that the baby looked good made me feel so relieved. Then, finding out the gender just added the icing to the cake. It was a wonderful day. (More about this after the gender party!)

Then, we had to meet with my doctor. She came in, told me everything looked good with the baby & listened to the babies heartbeat. I finally got to ask her if I could go to Mexico at the end of March and she said it was totally fine to go. I was a little worried, since we've already paid for it! :)

After our appointment we headed to Springfield to meet up with my cousin, Emily. But, not before stopping for some Chinese at the mall. :) We bought her crib that she used with her boys, and we got about half of it to fit in our car. This was the day that we were supposed to get the massive snow storm & Daniel didn't want to take the truck and get the crib all wet. After we got what we could in the car, we all went to eat at Lamberts for dinner. We had a great time eating with the boys. Ty even caught a throwed roll with his face! :)

Emily & the boys are wanting a boy...this is sweet little Jett wearing his blue necklaces that he is going to wear to the party to support 'team blue'.

We headed for home right after dinner. The weather was getting bad at home & once we hit Bolivar Daniel said, "we should have left Springfield a long time ago". The roads quickly became covered with snow & we couldn't see anything! Most of the time we were driving, I felt like our little Acura was pushing inches of snow. It was coming down so hard and fast that Daniel had to stop and wipe off our headlights and get the ice off the wipers. It was a scary drive...thank goodness God was watching over us & helped us get home safely.

Gender Reveal party is on Saturday....be looking for the gender reveal on here soon!!! :)

Here's a sneak peek of baby...

Maternity clothes? Yes! Shirts & Pants. Wonderful, I say!

Stretch marks? Nope.
Sleep: I’ve slept pretty well this week! Especially with my new pregnancy pillow that I made! To see the tutorial go to the DIY link on top!
Best moment this week: Definitely Daniel feeling the baby for the first time! It was so hilarious that I wish I had it on video! I’ve felt the baby for the last couple weeks---but, Daniel always missed out. I was lying on the couch one night & the baby had some monstrous kicks! I told Daniel he probably would be able to feel it. He ran over, put his hand on my belly, and sure enough…here came a huge kick! Daniel’s hand came flying off my stomach & his mouth dropped open. He said (and I will never forget these words) “Omg…that is so weird! It’s kind of gross…omg….”. I laughed so hard…but, he was not joking. I asked him if he wanted to feel baby again & he instantly said ‘no’! Haha!

He is trying to come around---he felt the baby one more time this week. Of course, the baby had to do a huge full body kick just to 'gross' him out, again. ;)
Miss Anything? My period….HA! Just kidding---I will never miss those wretched weeks.
Today, while home from school on a snow day, I have found myself gazing out the window at the hot tub more than once...miss you, sweet sweet hot tub!

Stretch marks? No. Still using my lotion relentlessly.
Sleep: Better this week! I sleep with a body pillow between my legs every night.
Best moment this week: At Halie’s ballgame I was sitting by Macey and Madison. They know about the baby and I was showing them my stomach. Madison looked at it for a little while and then she said, “How does that baby get out of there?!” Ha! Jackie quickly answered with, ‘it’s magic’. Good save, jack!

Also, got a pregnancy massage & adjustment by the chiropractor. I felt so good afterwards! This baby will be going to the chiro as well…we love the chiro around here!

Stretch marks? No…but using my Palmer’s every day, and night.
Sleep: I toss and turn all night. I sleep with a body pillow…but I think I am going to have to break down and buy a pregnancy pillow.
Best moment this week: My sweet little sister Halie made me (and baby G) Whopper cupcakes! They were wonderful & I won’t write how many I ate.

Miss Anything? Our HOT TUB!!! I have such a bad back & I know it would feel so good. But, Dr said no, so I’m trying to listen.  Also, SWEET TEA! I haven’t had ANY caffeine since I found out I’m pregnant.
Movement:
None yet…but I feel the gas! Ha!
Food cravings: I used to LOVE sweets before I got pregnant. Now, I want fake cheese (pretzels w/ cheese, nachos, etc).
Anything making you queasy or sick: I made fajitas this week. Threw away the left overs in the trash & the next morning when I walked by I got a whiff and lost it! Daniel thought it was hilarious…so he got to take the trash out!
